There is no better way to appreciate dance than to try a new dance genre for yourself. Head over to the Esplanade and join Footwork, a series of dance workshops that gives you the opportunity to learn popular dances from experts and pick up some moves in the months leading up to da:ns festival, held from 13 – 23 Oct 2022.
Workshops are head at the Esplanade Rehearsal Studio on the weekends and is suitable for kids of different ages too! Below are a selection of workshops that you may wish to consider.
Adults & Youths
Suitable for ages 11 and above, these basic workshops are conducted by professional instructors and are designed for adults and youths with little or no experience in dance.
Spanish Dance for Relaxation

Fill your senses and dance to soothing, inspiring Spanish melodies on wings of the harp. Let your movement breathe and flow with the music as you respond to your feelings and express it.
Contemporary Malay Dance

Explore contemporary movement through the lens of five genres of Malay dance: asli, inang, joget, masri and zapin.
Parents & Kids
These workshops are a great way for parents and kids aged 7 – 10 years old to bond and have lots of fun and laughter in these choreographed dance moves!
Popping With Mime

Superheroes-themed Hip Hop

Twinkle Toes
Twinkle Toes is a series of dance-play workshops for little tots between the ages of 3 and 6 to have fun with their parents as they whirl and twirl!
Baby Hip Hop

Energetic, fun and upbeat, this hip hop dance class will get your kids grooving and bouncing as they build confidence and style! This class will teach you how to move and groove to the latest tunes.
