Mandai Wildlife Group & XM Studios Launch Zoo-Inspired Figurine Collection
In celebration of World Wildlife Day, Mandai Wildlife Group and XM Studios have teamed up to launch a series of collectible figurines, featuring six beloved animals from the Singapore Zoo. Each of the animals is part of the Group’s Adopt an Animal programme and includes the African penguin, Aldabra giant tortoise, California sea lion, Malayan sun bear, pygmy hippopotamus, and the Sumatran orangutan.
As part of the official launch of this series of collectible figurines, Mandai Wildlife Group and XM Studios collaborated with media personalities, artists, and creators who stepped forward to give their time to hand-painting and creating personalised versions of the animal figurines.
Here's taking a closer look at some of animal figurines and the various media personalities, artists, and creators who painted them:
African Penguin
Painted by local host and media personality, Sonia Chew (@soniachew), she is one of the 27 artists and local media personalities engaged for this endeavour to create a one-of-a-kind hand painted piece.
Pygmy Hippopotamus
Painted by Lydia Yang (@oakandbindi), she is more popularly known by her online handle, Oak & Bindi, as an illustrator, graphic designer and creative entrepreneur. Her bold and playful style can be seen in her interpretation of the pygmy hippopotamus.
Sumatran Orangutan
Painted by Kunhua, or affectionately known as DJ Kunz, he is an illustrious media personality with MediaCorp YES 933.
