1. Antipodean Cafe

The Antipodean Café has several outlets in Malaysia and all of them, except the Mid Valley outlet, has a dedicated play area for little ones. The one at Atria Shopping Gallery is slightly bigger with an array of toy sets, plushies and even a television playing children’s movies, which is a bonus if you want to take your time savoring their well-loved selection of coffee and brunch offerings.

2. Out of Africa

The café has a firm foothold in the hearts of families in Bangsar and it’s more than because of its bright settings and play area.

Marmalade’s menu of healthy eats like the Corn & Zucchini Fritters (RM 31) and Chicken Teriyaki Bowl (RM 32) has her patrons returning for more. Their kids' menu also offers comforts delights such as Baked Mac & Cheese and Mini Cheeseburger, which comes with a side of sweet potato chips.

4. Bucket B Cafe [Closed]

Spread over three plot spaces on the second floor of the IPC Shopping Centre is Bucket B Café. On the menu are classic western favorites like mac and cheese, spaghetti bolognese, French toast, and chicken nuggets.

Taking it a notch higher on the child-friendliness, Bucket B provides an array of distractions for children. There’s a play area for the little ones, a shelf filled with games and books for the slightly older tots, and retro video games that are an attraction for both kids and adults alike. Specially designed for parents and children, the café also occasionally hosts activities for kids.

5. Wicked Pancake Parlour [Permanently Closed]

If you follow the Yellow Brick Road, you’ll end up at, not the Emerald City, but at the Wicked Pancake Parlour. We’re not talking about the long winding road in Oz, this one is located at Plaza Batai.

A chic café with alfresco seats, the Yellow Brick Road serves up hearty meals and good coffee. Take the stairs up to visit the Wicked Pancake Parlour where you’ll find a variety of pancake flavors, such as Peter Pandan, a stack of pandan-infused pancakes topped with caramelized and fresh jackfruit, salted caramel ice-cream and gula melaka sauce.

But not just that, they also have a small play area with books, building blocks and a retro wooden horse that will keep the kiddies entertained while you wait for your stack of sweet and savory delight. Another plus, since both cafés share owners, you can also order from the menu below and vice versa.

6. Ra-Ft Café/Bistro

A chic Italian-style café with outlets across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, Ra-Ft Café/Bistro attracts crowds with their freshly roasted coffee, craft beers, fine wine selection, and hearty meals. Not only do they roast their own coffee beans, but they also bake their own bread and cure their own salmon.

On the menu are western favorites such as Eggs Benedict, Pancakes, and Fish & Chips as well as offerings with a twist like the Ra-Ft Burger, a flavorful bacon and beef patty burger with mozzarella cheese and mushrooms.

The variety in the food menu also extends to the drinks menu, which features selections like Beetroot Latte, Tropical Berry Juice, Passion Fruit Kombucha, and Coconut Shake. As a bonus for parents with little kids, the outlet at Ampang has a small play area at the back of the café.
