The Assembly Ground at The Cathay
Located at Level 1 of the mall, the restaurant is easily spotted once you enter the mall through the main entrance or even from the carpark. The interior is well-lit with mosaic tiles lining the wall and bicycle hanging from them too. Otherwise, the minimalistic design creates a calm and chill atmosphere.
The restaurant also includes a second space (behind the counter) that will be opened if there is a crowd in the main space.
Menu at The Assembly Ground
The menu at the Assembly Ground includes a variety of options that includes appetizers, pasta, burgers and pizzas. Popular items are the Assembly Truffle Fries, Laksa Barramundi, Nagano Miso Pork, Truffle Carbonara, and Crab Pomodoro.
The restaurant also serves a variety of coffee and tea for parents who needs an extra boost for the day! And even beers to have a chill afternoon / evening.
New Kids Menu

A new kids menu was recently revealed and it includes the option of Cheese Toasties, Spaghetti Meatball and Fish & Chips, with a hot / cold chocolate. The set is available at $12++ and you may also top $1 for a vanilla ice cream.
The Cheese Toasties consist of a toasted sandwich with cheese and a sausage at the side. Instead of the usual tomato-based pastas, the Spaghetti Meatball is served in a porcini mushroom sauce with meatballs at the side. Finally the Fish & Chip is a battered haddock served with fries.
Kids will also receive an interesting colouring set (a man hiding under a mushroom from a meteorite of meatballs!) to help them pass time as they wait for their food!
Our Thoughts
We tried the new kids menu, ordering both the Cheese Toasties and Spaghetti Meatball. The kid really liked the spaghetti as it was really tasty and I felt that it was not too heavy or cheesy. However, if given a choice, he would still have ordered the Cheese Toasties because "the sausage was really good"!
