Happening from 23 January to 12 March 2021, here's how you and your family can still keep the festive spirit going with this year's mostly-digital edition of Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations.

1. Street Light-Up

When: 23 Jan to 12 Mar 2021, 7pm to 12mn (Daily)
Where: Along New Bridge Road, Eu Tong Sen Street and South Bridge Road

A key highlight of the Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations, this year's street light-up will feature sculptured lanterns of the Ox, gold coins, golden ingots, flowers and greetings, etc.. Combining traditions with modern design, visitors will be enthralled by the creativity of the contemporary street light-up design.

2. Chinese New Year Short Films

When: Mid-January onwards
Where: Chinatown Festivals Facebook and Instagram Pages

Enjoy three specially produced short films featuring renowned Chinatown Merchants such as Bee Cheng Hiang, Kele and Spring Court. The short films will bring the audience through a journey on the preparation of various Chinese New year’s delicacies and how these delicacies came to be associated with the festival and traditions.

3. Chinatown CNY2021 Online Activities

When: Mid-January onwards
Where: Chinatown Festivals Facebook and Instagram Page

A series of giveaway activities and interesting content to celebrate and learn about Chinese New Year and the festival's traditions.

There will also be a photo collage activity that will be taking place in early February for some family bonding fun!

4. 360 Virtual Tour and Heritage Trail

Date: End January/Early February onwards
Venue: Chinatown Festivals Website

Back for a second edition, the Chinatown 360 Virtual Tour will feature the Chinatown CNY Street Light-up as we usher in the Year of the Ox.

In addition, you can also enjoy the virtual Heritage Trail, where our volunteer guides will bring you through various points of interests in Chinatown. Look out for the microsite by early February.
