Created by students of Art Wonderland Studio, this art showcase is inspired by folktales and the stories they tell.

VenueStamford Arts Centre, #02-05
Date: 4 - 26 Jun 2022 (Closed on Mon)
Admission: Free (U.P. $3 per pax)

Over the course of 8 weeks, students from local art studio, Art Wonderland, were invited to dive into the world of folktales whilst being inspired to spin narratives that reflect their heroes and warriors, tortoises and hares. Who will their heroes be and what will evil look like? What kind of actions demonstrate honesty and kindness and what will be the fine line between good and bad? By examining the relationship between traditional tales and present-day narratives - it begs the question, how have these stories made us and what will we carry forward?

Art Showcase

Their 8-week project, titled ‘The Stories That Make Us’, will be showcased at Stamford Arts Centre, with stories and folktales waiting to be explored - whether it is the race between the tortoise and the hare or the warrior that swallowed the vomit of a monster for strength, the elements of folktales have found their way into the world that we live in - instilling a variation of reality that influences the way we navigate our lives.
