Bright and imposing, the Black Dragon Cave Temple is quite a charmer among tourists, after all, its ornate sculptures and carvings are a work of art to be admired.

2. Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm

If you love animals, we think you’ll love Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm . Housed within the farm are hundreds of saltwater crocodiles of different ages and different sizes. You’ll get to see baby crocodiles, mummy crocodiles and grandfather crocodiles, and learn more about them. And if you want to hold the baby crocodiles, you can do so under the caretaker’s supervision!

While the farm is well maintained and you’ll be observing the crocodiles from a distance, we advise you to keep a tight hold on your little ones to ensure their safety.

5. Kota Iskander

Featuring intricate motifs, scented gardens, serene water features, a mini indoor garden with its own waterfall, and refreshing open spaces, the majestic Kota Iskandar may look like a palace but it is in fact the Johor State Administrative Centre.

Within its compound are Bangunan Sultan Ismail, Home of the State Parliament, Bangunan Dato’ Jaafar Muhammad, Office of the Chief Minister and State Secretariat, and the Kota Iskandar Mosque, among other buildings.

Designed with the influence of Granada’s Alhambra Palace and Moorish style interwoven with local elements (you’ll be able to see black pepper motifs if you look closely), it’s a sight to marvel at.

6. Kota Tinggi Firefly Park

Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple is not your ordinary temple, it is made of mostly, as the name suggests, glass. Hundreds and thousands of mosaic pieces of different shades and colors like red, blue, yellow, purple and white adorn the temple walls, pillars, doors and ceilings, sparkling under the crystal chandeliers. If the sparkles have not blinded you with their brilliance, skilfully crafted sculptures around the temple will surely leave you at a loss for words. It’s a place where you can reflect on life or simply admire the design and architecture, maybe even do both.

8. Tanjung Balau Beach

Cozying up in an air-conditioned room is nice and all but sometimes you need to feel sun rays on your face, feel the sand under your feet and catch some waves. Times like that are when you swing by Tanjung Balau Beach.
