Liberty SAFRA Swim For Hope 2021 - Swim As A Family & Raise Funds!

The annual charity swim event, Liberty SAFRA Swim For Hope 2021, is back as a virtual swimming marathon!

For many kids and parents, swimming is a fun activity to be enjoyed as a family. What if you can have fun in the pool as a family and also raise funds for the needy at the same time?

Through Liberty SAFRA Swim For Hope 2021, families can take part in the charity swim event to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association Singapore (MDAS) under Community Chest, Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Care Fund and Singapore Swimming Association (SSA).

For the 2nd year in a row, Swim For Hope will be conducted as a virtual swim marathon with Liberty Insurance proud to be back as title sponsor after a successful event last year!

Join As A Family - Do Good Together!

There are 5 categories to take part in, and the most appropriate for families will be the Families for Life Parent-and-Child Category. Although it is called the Parent-and-Child category, additional family members may join in too. Below is the list of categories for Liberty SAFRA Swim For Hope 2021.

  • Open Individual 1km @ $20
  • Families for Life Parent-and-Child @ $32, additional person @ $12
  • Open Individual 10km @ $30
  • Open Individual 20km @ $40
  • Open Individual 55km @ $55

*SAFRA Members who sign-up will receive a $10 SAFRA Rewards e-voucher which can be used . The e-Vouchers will be available on the mSAFRA App and valid from 6 Dec 2021 to 31 Jan 2022

Open Categories are open to participants aged 13 years old and above. Participants between 6 to 12 years old can take part in the Parent-and-Child category.

Why Is Swim for Hope 2021 Family-Friendly?

Convenience - As a virtual event, families can choose where and when to complete the challenge. It could be a pool near you, a beach or even at a SAFRA swimming pool - all at your family's convenience! This is great for families since you don't have to go to a specific venue or at a specific time (no need to rush the kids around).

Fun Family Activity - There is no pressure to complete the entire distance in a single session. You may choose to break up the distance and attempt the marathon as part of the family's weekly visit to the pool!

Suitable For Kids - Also, it is not a competitive marathon, so the kids can use floats and kickboards to participate even if they are not yet strong swimmers. Parents can assist to clock in their distance and upload onto the Swim for Hope portal for recordkeeping!

Here’s a tip for mummies and daddies who like to take up a challenge, you may wish to take part in the 10km, 20km or 55km categories to compete on the challenge leaderboard and see how you compare with other participants! For swimmers taking part in the Families for Life or 1KM category, you can enjoy your swim in a fun and stress-free manner as you can collect your entitlements upon completion of the distance, and not be worried about the leader

Goodie Bags & Entitlements

Family members will just need to complete a minimum of 1km (total distance as a family) before 5 Dec 2021, 12 pm to receive a participant tee, goodie bag of sponsored items and finisher medal each! Daddies and Mummies who intend to sign-up for multiple categories, you will be entitled to one event tee and goodie bag for every category that you signed up for and completed!

Entitlements can be collected from late-December onwards at the SAFRA Club indicated during your registration. Alternatively, you can select to have the items delivered to your home for a small fee. Follow SAFRA Tampines' Facebook page to get the latest updates on Liberty SAFRA Swim For Hope 2021!

"Snap the Splash" Instagram Photo Contest

Adding on to the fun, families may take part in the "Snap the Splash" contest! From now till 5 December, simply post your family's most creative Swim For Hope 2021 swim session on Facebook, and invite family and friends to like and share the photo!

Families will stand a chance to win prizes from GARMIN, the event’s official smartwatch partner, including a GARMIN VENU 2, GARMIN SWIM 2 Smartwatches and more. Get more details on the photo contest here, and see how you can win these exciting prizes!

Registration

Families can register at www.libertysafraswim4hope.com.sg before 5 Dec 2021, 11.59 pm. Payment can be made via VISA or MasterCard on the website. Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation slip.

Donation Target

Your registration fees will go towards the $250,000 donation target! If you wish to contribute more, you may also donate directly to the beneficiaries using the following Giving.sg links.
