Painting with Light is National Gallery Singapore's annual film festival dedicated to films that explore artistic practices, art institutions, and moments in art history that resonate in the present.
This year, the festival returns online with its Southeast Asian Shorts section, featuring stories that reframe the notion of “home.”
In this anthology of short films, tangible and intangible aspects of home—physical dwelling and lived experience—interact in different contexts. Collectively, they reveal the fragility of the concept itself, especially in the face of profound global changes that impact local environments.
