Our little red dot is not just a rojak of different cultures, but also different kinds of places. We’ve got high-rise apartments and towering buildings, colonial buildings and green lungs if you ever need to escape the noisy city life for a short while to recharge.

Since we have to follow safety measures and keep our distance from others during this time, we’ve rounded up a list of quieter parks where you can hide away from the crowd!

1. Green Corridor

Location: Near Old Bukit Timah Railway Station

With lush vegetation growing on either of its sides, Green Corridor is an aptly named place. Although it’s still a work in progress, you can take a stroll along its trail for a morning away from the noisy city streets. The trail is quite popular among cyclists but it’s often quiet here, allowing you to forget you’re in the city.

2. Bukit Batok Town Park

The Bukit Batok Nature Park often sees more visitors than not while the Bukit Batok Town Park that’s just some distance away remains a pocket of tranquillity. Known as the little Guilin, the lake with tall, granite rock cliffs coming out of it might even assuage your desire for travel.

3. Esplanade Park

One of the oldest parks in Singapore, Esplanade Park is where many of Singapore’s landmarks lie. If you have some time, turn your quiet lunchtime stroll into a little historical hunt by visiting the Lim Bo Seng Memorial, the Cenotaph and the Kim Seng Fountain.

4. Berlayer Creek

Berlayer Creek
Location: Port Road

A walk along the Berlayer Creek boardwalk is almost like going on a nature adventure. The long trail will bring you across mudflats, mangroves and some very interesting creatures, including, at times, thieving monkeys.

5. Telok Blangah Hill Park

If you’re thinking about replenishing your energy with a trek in a park, you can also consider Telok Blangah Hill Park. You’ll be walking through the secondary forest of Telok Blangah Hill at eye-level with the forest canopy and be able to spot birds, dragonflies and butterflies if you take the elevated walkway on the Forest Walk.
