The September School Holidays is a short a week break and this year, the holiday will run from 2 to 10 September 2023. This year, we have an extended holiday with the Presidential elections on 1 Sep 2023 and Teacher's Day moving to 11 Sep 2023.

1. Be "Your Child's First Influencer" At SuperPark

3. Visit the RSAF55 Open House

The Republic of Singapore Air Force’s (RSAF) open house will offer families the opportunity for rides on the Chinook helicopter, Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) and other aircrafts. These experiences will be taking place during the RSAF55 Open House on 9 and 10 Sep 2023 at Paya Lebar Air Base - the first physical open house in seven years! 

From now until 22 Aug 2023, Singaporeans and permanent residents will be able to ballot for flight tickets! Each person gets one chance to ballot for up to 4 tickets! 

Even if you don't get a slot, you can still visit the open house to check out the other activities happening too! 

4. Take Part in the Families For Life - SAFRA Swim for Hope 2023

SAFRA Swim for Hope 2023 is an extraordinary opportunity for families to come together, participate in a fulfilling activity, and contribute to charitable causes. In this 13th edition, parents and children can choose to take part in the family-centric Families For Life category, where they embark on a meaningful swim challenge, spend quality time together and support a good cause as a family.

Suitable for families with children below 12 years old, the Families for Life category is available at 1KM and 5KM swim distances. To accommodate the schedules of families, the swim challenge may be completed virtually or physically on-site, and for the 5KM swim distance, as a hybrid of both options.

For families looking to include your extended family and friends, join the Team Category and create more splashing fun together as one big group! There will even be a token of appreciation given to the team with the most members too!

What were founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew’s growing up years like, and what did he have to overcome in order to become a man who helped build Singapore into a thriving cosmopolitan city? In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Mr Lee’s birth, Children’s Museum Singapore (CMSG) has launched its latest exhibition – LKY100 – The Boy Who Became Prime Minister – which traces the late Mr Lee’s story from his childhood to his career as a statesman, and examines the values he espoused and the legacy he left behind.

The exhibition seeks to deepen children’s understanding of the Singapore story through the lens of Mr Lee’s life and values, and foster a sense of pride at how far we have come. Along with his better-known achievements, children will also discover a more relatable side of Mr Lee, who grew up in the 1920s playing with gasing, marbles and fighting fish. In doing so, the exhibition also aims to show that young people can have big dreams and can make a difference in their communities and nation.

9. Have Fun at the Kids Enrichment Fair

Head down to the Cairnhill Community Club on 9 Sep 2023 for an engaging afternoon of education, entertainment, and family fun at the Kids Enrichment Fair 2023, organized by the Newton Neighbourhood Committee! Learn from expert talks on how to maximise your child's potential, and explore holistic enrichment programs from around 20 enrichment centres. There will be free trials and discounted classes available for sign-up too!

11. Learn More About Eczema at this Free Event with Fun Activities

Taking place on 2 September 2023, the National Skin Centre is organising a very special 35th anniversary event that will be themed around eczema. It will be a fun day of learning for families with carnival-esque games, snacks, lunch, a magic show, and more! 

Families will also hear from NSC experts about the myths about eczema, “turn and learn” tips on ingredients, mental health, and so much more. The event is free to attend with limited slots available to registered families on a first-come-first-served basis. Register here

Curious Thoughts Giving (CTG) and Art Wonderland is running a fundraising initiative with the two-day #CHILDRENFORCHILDREN Family Carnival

Held on 9 and 10 Sep 2023 at The Arts House, families can expect a host of activities such as storytelling by The Twisters, exciting performances, raffle lucky draws, play invitations, and a variety of parent-and-child programmes by Art Wonderland, Thann Singapore and SALTT Workshop. The highlight of the carnival is a children's art auction showcase created by students of Art Wonderland aged 3 - 12 years old, in hopes to raise funds for CTG's beneficiaries

#ChildrenforChildren aims to instil in students a sense of altruism for others and a belief in the power of art to give back in meaningful ways! Artworks from the children and more will be exhibited and open for auction from now until the 10th September.

All donations will go towards hiring experienced teachers, purchase and creation of learning materials, outreach efforts to help more children, and supporting the operational costs for the charity. Through CTG's programmes, CTG provides free quality literacy and phonics classes to children from less privileged backgrounds.

14. Photo Opportunity and More at the UNIQLO x Studio Ghibli Experience at Bugis+

19. Visit the New Exhibition Going Viral at the Science Centre Singapore

Modern day pandemic interventions did not arise overnight - the Going Viral exhibition at the Science Centre Singapore will let you learn more about the science journey that has enabled modern day pandemic interventions. 

It seeks to raise awareness around pandemic management and interventions, and the complementary roles that STEM and communities play in curbing the spread of viruses. It will feature three themed zones presented through a range of interactive exhibits, including highlights such as artistic dioramas depicting familiar scenes from the pandemic, a gameshow-styled quiz station on the dangers of misinformation and a variety of multimedia games.

20. Meet & Greet with Pikachu at Selected Shell Stations

From 1 Sep 2023, Shell will be releasing unique designs of its dehumidifier plushies featuring four Pokémon – Pikachu, Snorlax, Eevee and Charizard – individually at specific periods! 

To celebrate the launch, Shell will be having a special event at six Shell stations where all four Pokémon dehumidifier plushie designs will be available for purchase for the first 60 customers, from 10 am onwards on 2 and 3 Sep 2023!

On the same days, meet-and-greet sessions with Pikachu will be happening at these six Shell stations at selected timeslots only. To snap a photo with Pikachu, customers will need to be a Shell GO+ member and present their Shell Asia app for verification.

21. Go On A Cable Car Pokemon Experience

An eye-catching line of 67 Poké Ball cabins soaring 100 metres above sea level - that's what families can expect as part of Singapore Cable Car's 50th Anniversary celebrations! 22. Meet & Greet with Meow Meow at the Lau Pa Sat

23. Pop-Up Rooms at National Museum of Singapore for More Photos!

Inspired by the themes featured in the National Museum of Singapore's latest exhibition, Now Boarding: Experiencing Singapore through Travel, 1800s–2000s, there will be two new pop-up rooms that will complement the ongoing NMS Disco Room and offer visitors a glimpse into some of the popular sights around Singapore in the 1980s.

Families can enter the Singapore Airline’s (SIA) Raffles Lounge which was first launched in 1976. The room spotlights three unique amenities and services that were offered on SIA flights from the 1970s to the 1980s – Slumberettes, custom divans that could be turned into beds located on a separate deck of the Boeing 747, which were precursors to the convertible flat beds on the first class seats; live in-flight entertainment performances on selected routes; and SIA’s one-of-a-kind dining experience, Hugo’s in the Sky. 

Those who love to take trick shots won't want to miss Hotel inspired by the Goodwood Park Hotel in the 1980s, showcasing the recreated hotel lobby, corridor and hotel room, alongside a selection of objects specially loaned from the hotel’s collection including key cards, advertisements and postcards from the 1900s to 1970s.

25. Support Mental Wellness at the Beyond the Label Fest

Organised by the BTL Collective, led by the National Council of Social Service and TOUCH Community Services, this year's Beyond the Label (BTL) Fest is centred around the theme, “Mental Wellness Begins with All of Us” and aims to highlight that mental wellness is a shared responsibility.

Learn tips and strategies to better manage your mental wellbeing through the workshops and interactive event booths throughout the day. These include soothing aromatherapy and wellness sessions, a creative Zentangle art workshop, a Human Library session, and sand play therapy. You can also find out more about resources such as Belle, BTL helpbot, and how it can help you. 

In the evening, enjoy performances by local artiste Annette Lee and students from various educational institutions, and hear their mental health stories. There will also be a cosy fireside chat and share insights on the importance of help-seeking and supporting each other to promote mental well-being.

26. Ballet Under the Stars 2023

Ballet Under the Stars 2023 will be a picnic and ballet party out at the legendary Fort Canning Green! There’s nothing quite like taking an evening out to relax and unwind with a picnic under the stars and exquisite ballet on stage. It is time to breathe a little, we welcome you to experience ballet in a whole new way.

While food and beverages, and picnic mats are allowed for the event, only sales of bottled mineral water is available on-site. Remember to bring your own picnic items to enjoy the performance!

27. Immerse Yourself in the Opening Weekend of the Singapore River Festival

Back for its seventh edition and marking its first physical comeback since 2019, the annual Singapore River Festival will see an even more interactive and engaging event for all.

28. Singapore Comic Con Prelude 2023

In anticipation of Singapore Comic Con 2023 happening in December, City Square Mall will be hosting the prelude event to give the public a glimpse of the fun and excitement we can look forward to!

Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) is the ultimate celebration of the best of Western and Asian pop culture. Featuring live games and collectible exhibit showcases, there is something for everyone to experience. For the young ones, they can look forward to meeting Bluey, the puppy character from an Australian animated preschool television series of the same name. Young fans of this television series will surely be excited watching their favourite character come to life and to be able to snap photos with it!

There will also be many hands-on activities such as building a combat saber and miniature painting! For those who wish to find out more and enter the gaming world, SGCC Prelude is the perfect place for you to be introduced to HeroClix, a collectible miniatures game, as well as Vanchcard, an AR trading card game. Bond with your friends and loved ones over these popular and exciting games that will be sure to keep you entertained for hours on end.

Of course, it would not be an SGCC event without an element of cosplay. Cosplayers are also invited to come dressed in their favourite characters and one can look forward to the display of intricate costumes during the Cosplay Parades. This year, there will also be a special Kids Cosplay Runway for children to show off their creative outfits!

29. Celebrate Mid-Autumn at One Punggol

One Punggol invites families to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival 2023 with family fun activities over the school holidays! Happening till 10 Sep 2023, families are welcomed to decorate their own lanterns at the pop-up booths for paper lantern paintings at The Plaza. Children and their parents can join in these free daily arts & craft workshop at the Hub and get creative too!

That's not all! There will also be a giant lantern installation as well as fun-filled interactive games and family-friendly activities such as inflatable bouncy castles and free snack giveaways at the official light up ceremony on 15 Sep! And to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival on 29 Sep, One Punggol will be having cultural performances, lion & dragon dance and a lantern walk for families too!

30. Explore Now Is Not the Time Exhibition

"Now Is Not The Time” is a modern immersive art installation that commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Singapore’s Founding Father Lee Kuan Yew. The exhibition is open to the public daily from 11 am till 8 pm from 10th  till 24th Sep 2023.

The exhibition blends virtual production, AI, generative art, architecture, sculpture art, film, and music to deliver a unique experience, and is designed to appeal to all ages through Instagram-worthy visuals and the incorporation of interactive Alternate Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Visitors can look forward to appreciating original works by local art schools, and artists from Singapore and abroad.

30. Go on a Behind-the-Scenes Tour of Tai Hua Soya Sauce Factory

On the Tai Hua Soya Sauce Behind-The-Scenes Tour, families will embark on an immersive journey into the heart of soy sauce brewing with our experts as they unveil the magic behind the process. From ancient fermentation tanks to state-of-the-art mixing and filtration systems, get an exclusive glimpse into the art of crafting the perfect soy sauce.

Participants will learn about the equipment used to produce soy sauce, from traditional fermentation tanks to high-tech mixing and filtration systems. So come and join us in unveiling the secrets of flavor at this Tai Hua Soya Sauce Behind-The-Scenes Tour this school holiday. 

31. Join the Little Forest Mummy Meet-up + Guided Activity

Recommended for mummies with kids aged between 6 to 18 months old, our next Mummy Meet-up will be happening at Little Forest, a creative enrichment space for children on 6 Sep 2023! The popular school will be providing 30 mins of guided activities for parents and little ones to bond, and there will also be free play opportunities for mummies to mingle and make new friends! 

The guided activity includes snippets from the Baby Troopers programme - designed to promote overall development through a variety of exciting activities.
