Fireworks, Light Shows & More: Where To Celebrate New Year's Eve 2021 in Singapore!

Here's a list of New Year Eve 2021 events and happenings, including fireworks, that you can look forward to celebrate the coming of 2022!

While we may not have the massive New Year Eve celebration at Marina Bay this year, it does not mean that celebrations are completely off the cards! In fact, you can still experience fireworks and more to usher in 2022! 

Check out the list below and start planning your celebrations! If you decide to bring the family out, do remember to to maintain safe distancing and not gather in large groups!

Fireworks in the Heartlands

The NYE2021 fireworks display at Marina Bay may not be happening, but fireworks at the Heartlands are definitely happening (as announced by the URA in November)! However the exact locations have not been announced yet and we will update the information once we have them. 

In the meantime, you may wish to put on your guessing hats and using the fireworks location in 2020 to make some educated guesses! The 11 fireworks location in 2020 are 

  • Bedok Reservoir
  • Tampines Hub
  • Junction 8 
  • Yew Tee
  • Jurong Central Park
  • Geylang
  • Hougang Central Bus Interchange
  • Jurong Lake Gardens
  • Tiong Bahru Park
  • Woodlands
  • Nanyang ward in West Coast GRC

*note that these are the venues in 2020 for reference. 

Fireworks Update 

According to the People's Association, fireworks can be viewed in the following locations (unfortunately, the exact location is not provided).

The People’s Association (PA) has listed out the 10 sites in a media release

  • Bedok
  • Bishan
  • Boon Lay
  • Hougang
  • Tampines
  • Woodlands
  • Buona Vista
  • Chua Chu Kang
  • Kembangan-Chai Chee
  • Sembawang

Besides the fireworks displays, the PA has also lined up 15 virtual community programmes which includes, song-and-dance performances, stand-up comedy and games and quizzes. So do check out your estates Facebook page for more details. The list of the virtual programmes are also available here

Shine a Light

  • 2 - 30 Dec 2021 (8 pm - 10.30 pm)
  • 31 Dec 2021 (8 pm - 11.45 pm)

The Shine a Light is a light installation where 60 light beams in a circular formation is projected from the Promontory into the night sky. This installation represents strength in diversity and this year's edition will use different coloured lights to shine the spotlight on frontline workers, ground-up groups, as well as charities meeting needs within our communities

The 2-minute animated light sequence will play every 15 minutes.

Share The Moment

Share the Moment is a series of light projections on the facades of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands and the Merlion. 

The projections take place every 15 mins and through the original artwork of local students, it will tell the heartwarming story of people who have come together to give their best for others during difficult times. 


Waterfront Promenade Light Installations

Date26 - 31 Dec 2021 (8 pm - 10.30 pm), extended display times on 31 Dec 2021

Stroll along the Marina Bay waterfront promenade and you will be greeted by special light installations and projections to add to the festive cheer! These installations are great photo ops and also offers an uplifting experience as families walk through a kaleidoscope of colours on a treetop canopy! 

You will find yourself immersed in a galaxy of stars as you capture the pictures of your family with the lighted inflatable bird structures, or or the abstract clock-face projection display.


Let's Celebrate 2022

Date: 26 - 31 Dec 2021 (8 pm - 10.30 pm), extended display times on 31 Dec 2021

Mediacorp's annual New Year's Eve countdown show, Let's Celebrate 2022, returns this year with a lineup of performances that takes place across the island. You can expect stars such as Kit Chan, Nathan Hartono, Jasmine Sokko and more on this once-a-year celebration! 

Some of the iconic landmarks in the show, includes the Dragon Playground at Toa Payoh Lorong 6 and Jewel Changi Singapore. Selected scenes from the fireworks in the heartlands will also be featured in the show! 

OTH We Will Rock You Live Concert

Date31 Dec 2021, 10.30 pm (Concert), 31 Dec 2021 - 2 Jan 2022 (Acitivies)

Enjoy a phygital rock concert with Our Tampines Hub's We Will Rock You Live Concert! Get ready for an awesome night with comical and witty host Justin Misson and entertaining concert performances by local stars as well as 3 days of back-to-back family-friendly activities for the entire family! 

This concert is happening on 31 Dec 2021, 10.30pm at the Town Square at Our Tampines Hub. Tickets are free but unfortunately have been all given out. Instead families can catch the live-streaming on Facebook and YouTube channels from the comfort of your own home!

The following activities will be happening at OTH from 31 Dec 2021 till 2 Jan 2022, 

  • Multi Cultural Dance & Live Performances @ Festive Plaza (31 Dec – 2 Jan)

Catch a Movie Netflix / Disney+

With so many streaming options, you may just want to stay home with the kids (turn up the air-conditioning) to catch a movie to end the year! You can search for the latest 2021 shows or search for a classic on streaming services such as  Netflix or Disney+
